Show season 2024

Summary

2024 was a successful year for the Bodarov kennel, with the biggest highlight of the year at Crufts in March for Multi Ch. Bodarov Ballada. Where she became best bitch, and thus BOS among 56 bitches. In addition, she was number 9 on the breed list in the Swedish breed club (Borzoi-Ringen).

Then there was another significant BOS - namely at the Borzoi speciality, for Bodarov Avalanche. It was his fourth exhibition ever, and a great achievement. Shown so beautifully by Ballada's owner, Sebastian. Many thanks again!

This year, the dogs with Bodarov prefix, have also been placed both in the group, as best in breed and as best in the opposite sex.

On the Lure Coursing course, where both Multi Ch. Bodarov Aria and Multi Ch. Bodarov Ballada shown from theirs best side. Both in Norway and Denmark.

Once again, the Bodarov borzoi is represented on this year's breed list in the Borzoi Committe (Borzoiutvalget), and on the NKK Most Winning in the Breed. This time it was NO UCH Bodarov Ambassador who landed on, respectively 4th and 2nd place.

We thank all the judges for appreciating our dogs so highly, and to all the owners who give us the opportunity to show their favourites.

Nice Ending

The last show trip of the year went to Melsomvik again. Where we were able to meet both current, and future puppy buyers.

NO CH Bodarov Ambassador was second best male, and his dam N DK CH NJub CH NVet CH NORDW-23 NVW-24 OSLVW-24 Fujarka Stepowy Goniec, was second best veteran.

Sister Multi. Ch. Bodarov Aria was shown in the working dog class, got "Excellent" and CK.

Brother Bodarov Avalanche was tired after a long weekend, with i.a. heart and eye examinations. Sebastian showed him the best he could, ending up with "Excellent".

It's always nice to come to Stord, just a short hour from home. Meet other dog friends, and get to know new ones.

NO CH Bodarov Ambassador, was best in breed, while his dam NO DK CH NJub CH NVet CH NORDW-23 NVW-24 OSLVW-24 Fujarka Stepowy Goniec, became best in the opposite sex.

Bamse later became number 3 in the group, among the other winners from group 10.

National Lc-Try Run, Sørum - 21.Sept.´24

1.place & LC CC
To Ballada

The national LC try run is organized annually by the Podenco club.  spring and autumn.

In recent years, SE LCCH, DK LCCH, FI LCCH, NO LCCH, NORD LCCH, NO CH, C.I.C., DK CH, DK BPCH Bodarov Aria has won first  place among the borzoi, but now it seems she has a worthy challenger.

Her half-sister C.I.B. NO SE DK CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada got her license earlier this spring, and has now managed to climb all the way to the top.

She got her first LC-Cert today. And has a Danish from before.

SON BOB & Mum Veteran Champion

On an unusually warm September day, we showed two half-brothers and their mother.

NO UCH Bodarov Ambassador was best in breed with Cacib, later he was picked out in the group final (gr.10), without placement.

Bodarov Baron was at his third show ever. In the middle of the roe period, managed to bring in 4th best male with res.cert. Not bad!

NO DK CH NJub CH NVet CH NORDW-23 NVW-24 OSLVW-24 Fujarka Stepowy Goniec was 2nd best bitch, and best of breed veteran. With the last vet.cert in place, she can now add the Norwegian veteran champion title to her list. She was also selected among other veterans in the BIS final, but unfortunately was not placed either.

The judge in the breed, and in the group was Christian Jouanchicot.

:: Reserve BIS ::

The highlight of the year for borzoi-Norway is definitely the breed speciality. This year, 37 Borzois were entered for judge Sue Pinkerton from England.

First time at the speciality, and at his third show ever - Bodarov Avalanche went all the way to the top among the males, ended up best in the opposite sex, and reserve BIS!

In addition, he won the unofficial competition for "Best Head and Expression". Not enough of that! With their half-sister Ballada, they were voted "Best Couple". Masterfully shown by Ballada's owner Sebastian Doricic.

Today's results for the rest of Team Bodarov:

• C.I.B. NO SE DK CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada was 2nd best bitch. BIS Champion and BIS Couple - together with her half-brother Bodarov Avalanche.

• NO DK CH NJub CH NORDW-23 NVW-24 OSLVW-24 Fujarka Stepowy Goniec became 2nd best veteran bitch, and

• NO CH NJV-20 Bodarov Amber ended up with Excellent.

:: BIs champion ::

C.I.B. N SE DK CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada was named the best in show champion in this unofficial competition. Among both sexes in the respective champion classes.

Finally, she was also honored as Borzoi of the Year in Norway for 2023. With a diploma for the owner, and cake for everyone. Hooray, hooray, hooray!

Half-Sisters on the Podium

C.I.C  SE DK FI NO LCCH  NORD LCCH NO DK CH  DKBPCH Bodarov Aria and C.I.B. N SE DK CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada  met in Denmark to compete at the Lure Coursing field. After two runs, ended Aria as second best. And Ballada as third.

Avalanche Debut

Bodarov Avalanche was shown for the first time at the Pinse Show. Turning 5 years old a week earlier. At the annual Sighthound Speciality in Gran in Hadeland. And what a debut he had! Best of breed, first certificate and a great critique.

Making History
At Crufts

Our first trip to the famous Crufts exhibition in England. Biggest in Europe, and one of the biggest in the World. Was a longtime "must go" on our wishlist.

The trip was long, it took us two whole days to drive one way. But we enjoyed every minute of it. Like "two peas in a pod" - we laugh, talked about everything, and had a great time. So time flew effortlessly.

Beforehand, we made an agreement. That, if we weren't placed, we were going to travel anyway to experience the whole "show". Well, it turned out as it did - and to our great surprise, our only Norwegian breed representative was placed as best bitch out of over 50! Talk about dropping jaws...

We are very happy, and very proud of our first Crufts winner. And the very first in Norway's breed history - Bodarov Ballada!

& Best of breed

The trip to Denmark paid off this time, for Lulu and the boys. Out of 12 borzois, she was best in breed, and none was best in the opposite sex.
Nå kan NO SE CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada can add third champion title before her name. And her second in 4 weeks - the Danish one.

Gunnar Nymann was breed judge. Due to the long journey, Lulu did not stay for the group final.

We started our new show season in Etne, like last year - and the year before, and the year before that. In other words, as we usually do. The only difference was that this time, it was NO DK CH NORDW-23 NJub CH Fujarka Stepowy Goniec that ended up third best sighthound in group 10.

Second day at MyDog 2 judged Mette Mörkegaard. Of the 26 registered, was NO CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada second best bitch with reserve CACIB.

And then suddenly the weekend was over for her, and for Sebastian. Happy and satisfied, they turned their noses towards home, hopefully without too much "charging anxiety".

The first exhibition tour of the year for Lulu, went to Gothenburg and MyDog. One of the largest dog shows in Sweden. With a total of over 7,000 dogs taking part over 3 days. There were 25 entered in the breed, and NO CH NJW-21 NW-21 Bodarov Ballada drew the longest straw. With that, she also became Swedish champion. Our very first!

Judge for the day was Benny Blidh von Schedvin. Congratulations to her owner Sebastian, who showed her so masterfully again.
